What is BIMI?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an email standard that allows organizations to display their brand logo next to authenticated emails in recipients' inboxes. It builds on top of DMARC authentication.

Prerequisites for BIMI

  • DMARC: Your domain must have a DMARC record with policy set to p=quarantine or p=reject
  • SVG Logo: Your logo must be in SVG Tiny PS format (square, max 32KB)
  • VMC Certificate: For full support in Gmail and other major clients, you need a Verified Mark Certificate from DigiCert or Entrust

Email Client Support

  • Gmail: Requires VMC certificate
  • Apple Mail: Requires VMC certificate
  • Yahoo/AOL: Shows logo without VMC
  • Fastmail: Shows logo without VMC
